Making music began as a hobby for the trio of producers / djs known as Mutated Forms hailing from Talin, Estonia. Original members Alexander (Zub) and Artiom (G-ruff) (3rd member Alex H – joined the crew in 2004) started experimenting with different genres of electronic music using literally any kind audio software they could lay their hands on at the time. It was at the beginning of 2004 when MF's tunes first began appearing on various drum and bass CD-compilations. It was during the course of 2004 that they released an album on an underground Russian Label, Prosvet Records, titled ‘MF Project – No Limits'. The album mainly comprised of "jump up" style drum and bass, but also featured offerings of more liquid funk nature and a few experimental tracks thrown in for good measure. The album was well received by the European drum and bass audience and critics alike, thus gaining the young MF team further recognition amongst their more established peers. This was shortly followed up in 2005 when their music was released on an more experimental label called Exegene Records. It was then, in recognition of their up-coming talent, UK drum and bass pioneer and label boss of the mighty Formation Records, Dj SS began keeping a close eye on their music and subsequent progress. It was their track “My Feeling” that finally got released on the Formation powered imprint World Of Drum'n'Bass Records catapulting the trios music further towards the mainstream of drum and bass music. Not content at reaching this goal, quickly followed a release on Formations sister label New Identity, proving their value as international drum and bass artists. Their studio productions are individually unique, never reliant on formulaic trends, each creation being notably different from the last, but all in all sprinkled with a distinctive audio seasoning which has become to be recognised worldwide as the Mutated Forms magic. With these dance floor friendly sounds, and wobbly liquidness, it is no wonder the likes of dnb heavyweight DJ's such as Bailey, Hype, SS, Kane, Sappo have been supporting their tracks on the international drum and bass circuit. Ultimately, their popular dance-floor style as producers mirrors their live performance as djs, spawning balanced, versatile and dynamic sets capable of pushing the boundaries of techy beats and breaks, through to speaker thumping jump up sound spruced with lick of funk. Whatever gets the dance-floor moving be sure to find it in a Mutated Forms DJ set. Now firmly entrenched and supported by the Formation camp and regularly smashing sets at the now world famous “World Of Drum and Bass” party series, the Mutated Forms trio are fast becoming hot property on the international drum and bass circuit. Keep your eyes and ears open for Mutated Forms with their forthcoming releases on Formation Records, their new fortnightly radio show on Nu Era Radio and on dance floors across the globe, particularly in the regions Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Slovakia, Finland, Lithuania where they are best known so far.
